summer is always a busy time in chicago. the city hosts one of the country's largest PRIDE parades with over 1 million people crammed into the Boystown neighborhood and Lollapalooza music festival brings in artists from all over the world, while other countless markets, festivals, and neighborhood-specific events create a unique opportunity for (un)common good collective to provide a chic urban experience for our chicago-based interns.
while in the program, interns will have opportunities to develop long-lasting relationships through the Collective, learn how to engage in strategic community organizing, undergo intensive leadership training and extensive personal development over a 3 month period, including ::
• investment in various UGC projects, giving voice to how to best develop and execute programming
• leading events in various diverse neighborhoods around the city promoting the mission, work and values of UGC
• opportuntities to work alongside and learn from high caliber leaders within the Collective
• participate in weekly meetings with (un)common good collective staff and partners around the country
• developing life-long friendships and camaraderie with other interns, UGC staff and partners
• personal development and extensive leadership training as well as strategic planning in community organizing
• rigorous and challenging curriculum custom designed for the interns' passion/interests as it relates to UGC's mission
